Rose, the Spirited Bear Cub

Rose, a three-month-old sloth bear cub, was found abandoned near a village in Bhopal, India, with a severely injured fore-limb caused by a poacher's snare. She had been brutally maimed and left to die. A team from Wildlife SOS rescued her and performed intensive surgeries, which resulted in the amputation of the leg. Despite the trauma and her permanent disability, Rose began a positive road to recovery at the Agra Bear Rescue Center, which is the world's largest sloth bear rehabilitation center and houses over 200 other rescued "dancing bears". Her story is a testament to the dedication of rescue organizations and the resilience of animals in overcoming horrific abuse.
